The Matthew 6:33 Life

I’m currently trying to finish a book for my piano pedagogy course that I am teaching this semester.  The working title is “The Matthew 6:33 Piano Teacher.”

For those of you who don’t have it memorized (a lot of people do) Matthew 6:33 says this:

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and these things shall be added unto you.”

What in the world does teaching piano have to do with God’s Kingdom?

The same thing that washing dishes, folding clothes, changing diapers, blogging, working as a secretary, and selling Avon has to do with the Kingdom of God.

It’s incredibly important that we are always ready to share the Gospel with others but even when we aren’t in all out evangelism mode, our actions still can have an impact on eternity.

Whether it’s in our mothering, our homemaking, being a helpmeet to our husbands, our hobbies, or in our vocation or volunteering; whatever we do in our life we need to do it like God’s Kingdom will be affected by it.

We need to take our ever endeavor to God in prayer and seek Him in all things because God can use us in all things.
We don’t know how our day to day actions will impact those in our lives, but God does.

“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3:23-24
